FREEDOM OF INFORMATION

How do I make a Freedom of Information request to the Council?

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 applies to a range of public authorities which includes Limavady Borough Council. Anyone can request access to information held by the Council subject to a number of exemptions included in the Act.

A Freedom of Information request must:

- Be in writing (e-mail requests are acceptable)

- Include a name and contact address (or e-mail address) for the applicant for correspondence purposes.

- State clearly what information is being requested.

Anyone can request information under the Act regardless of what age they are, their nationality or location.
