The administration and enforcement of the Building Regulations (NI), these regulations apply to the construction of new buildings, the alteration or extension of existing buildings, the change of use of an existing building and the installation of fittings

• pre-application advice on all Building Regulations and associated issues
• prompt assessment of plans submitted under the “full plans” application procedure
• acknowledgement of Building Notice applications within three days from the date of receipt of a valid application
• on-site inspections carried out on same day, if requested before 10.30  am and within one day if requested after 10.30 am
• Prompt issue of Completions Certificates when building work has finished, prompt investigation and issue of Regularisation Certificates, where work has been carried out without prior approval
• Information and guidance leaflets on specific subjects
