Limavady Borough Council facilitates Limavady Borough Community Safety Partnership; one of twenty six Community Safety Partnerships established following the review of the Criminal Justice System and the subsequent launch of the NI Community Safety Strategy.
The Community Safety Partnership was established to tackle crime, fear of crime and anti-social behaviour via a multi-agency approach.
Current members include Foyle Health and Social Services Trust, Western Education and Library Board, Western Health and Social Services Board, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, Limavady Borough Council, Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Police Service of Northern Ireland, Probation Board, Victim Support and Community representatives.
The Partnership funds local initiatives aimed specifically at those issues identified as high priority in the Limavady Community Safety Strategy 2005-2008. This was published following collation of local data and extensive public consultation, to determine local community safety concerns.
