The Council is made up of 15 members who are elected for a four year term.
In addition to the monthly meeting of the Council the business of Council is conducted through the following standing committees:-
- Support Services Committee
- Development Services Committee
- Planning and Services Committee
- Environmental Services Committee
The posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor are determined using the d'Hondt system for a four year period from the last election. Similarly, the chair of Council's standing committies are also determined using d'Hondt.
Representation on other committees are agreed by members at the Annual General Meeting, generally following the spirit of d'Hondt.
