As you have probably heard, a new Rural Development Programme is currently being planned for Northern Ireland.  The Programme will run until 2013, and covers a range of activities and actions.

The Programme is now at consultation stage.  Many of you have already met with staff from Limavady Borough Council to put forward your ideas and thoughts.  Some of you may not yet have had the chance.

While we’ve undertaken much consultation over the last few months, there is always room for more.  Limavady will be delivering the new Programme in a cluster arrangement with Omagh, Derry and Strabane Councils.  As part of this arrangement, a final series of workshops is being undertaken.

These will be advertised in all the local papers across the area, but for your own area, the workshop will be held in the Vale Centre, Greysteel, on Wednesday 18 June, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

If you wish to come along and hear more about the Programme, and put forward any ideas, please confirm your attendance with Karen.mullan@limavady.gov.uk, or call 028 777 60306.  If you can’t make the event, and have any thoughts you wish to share, you can phone, write or email your ideas to the contact details above.

We look forward to seeing you there! Some documentation on the new Rural Development Programme is available here.

The Cluster has bid for around £3.6m of EU funding over the next three years, and this is an important programme for the North East.

This plan is now available for comment and information. Should you wish to receive a copy, please email call Catherine or Karen on 028 77760306 for an emailed version. It is also available to download from here.
