I Want To Buy A Kerbside Bin

All 240 litre household kerbside bins can be purchased from Limavady Borough Council. 

If you would like the council to deliver the bins to your home an additional delivery charge will be levied.

What goes into what?

Blue Kerbside Recycling Bin

Please place the following materials into the blue recycling bin:

• Newspaper
• Magazines
• Card & Cardboard (Please flatten is possible)
• Plastic bottles only (Please rinse and leave lids on)
• Food & drink cans (steel & aluminium)

Grey Kerbside Refuse Bin

Please place the materials into the grey refuse bin:

• All types of envelopes, shredded and brown paper
• Aluminium foils and take-away dishes
• Plastic bags, trays and packaging waste
• Disposable nappies
• Food waste

Brown Kerbside Compostable Bin

Please place the follwing materials into the brown compost bin:

• Grass cuttings
• Small tree branches and Hedge prunings
• Weeds and Leaves
• Bark and dead flowers/weeds

Kerbside Collection Instructions

• Bins should be presented at the kerbside or roadside with lids closed and handles facing out by 07:30AM on day of collection.
• Only one 240ltr grey (refuse) bin and one 240ltr blue (recycling) bin per household unless otherwise agreed by the Council.
• If your blue bin is found to be contaminated (i.e. includes unacceptable waste such as plastic bags) IT WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.  It is the householder’s responsibility to remove contaminants before presenting the blue bin for the next collection. 
• Do not overfill the bins and additional refuse will not be collected.
• Ensure you present the correct bin for collection.
• Blue bins cannot be accepted at the civic amenity sites.
• Do not dispose of any cans or bottles containing liquid (e.g. paint, cooking oil) into the bins.  These materials can be disposed off safely at the civic amenity site,Ballyquin Road, Limavady.
