The spectacular coastline of the Borough provides ample opportunity for a variety of water sports.  The broad shallow waters of Lough Foyle are well used by wind surfers with surfers, body boarders and kayakers playing in the breakers along Benone Strand when the swell is up.

From April to September Benone Strand is a key site on the North Coast for personal water craft, better known as jet skis.  Specific zones are set up daily at Benone to ensure activities can take place safely.
