Limavady Borough Council has been helping rural business for over five years and continues to support indigenous SMEs through a continuing economic programme that operates within a business-friendly infrastructure.
Derry City Airport is only twelve miles away, and the drive to either airport in Belfast takes less then an hour and a half. For its 32,000 citizens, higher education is at a premium, with University of Ulster campuses and Colleges of Further & Higher Education both in Limavady and in nearby Coleraine and Londonderry.
The council works with other like-minded towns in the north west who are currently forming a long-term enterprises alliance.
Limavady used to have one of the lowest number of business starts; now it has one of the highest.
Limavady Borough Council has also funded a range of programmes which directly benefit small businesses in the area, such as the Business Development Programme. This and other programmes have helped SMEs in the area to look at how they do business now and how they can do it better in the future. The new Economic Development Programme will run from 2007 - 2009. New Programmes will be announced either through this website or via the local press.
