What's available under Axis 3 of the Programme?

Grants of up to 50% are available for private enterprise. Grants of up to 75% are available for statutory, community and voluntary organisations. It its then up to the organisation/ individual to find the remaining matched funding.

You may be able to find the funding from your own resources e.g. savings etc. However, some ideas on matching funding can be found here.

In terms of funding, just over £18 million has been allocated to the ARC North West cluster.

Across the region from Omagh to Limavady, this means that the following monies are available for the various schemes - please note these are approximate figures, and liable to change:

£3.6m is available for farm diversification

£3.6m is available for small business assistance, or "micro diversification"

£2.3m is available for tourism

£2.3m is available for rural services

£2.3m is available for village renewal

£1.2m is available for conservation and heritage

These figures may change, but if you are interested in finding out more, contact us.

The North West Cluster opened for Expressions of Interest in February 2009.  The Expression of Interest form is a short form (two pages) which allowed interested parties to provide some brief details on their project idea as well as the items which they are seeking funding for from Axis 3 of the Rural Development Programme.  ARC North West is using these forms to give interested parties an indication of whether their project is suitable for funding.

Submission of an Expression of Interest form does NOT constitute an application for funding.  If the proposal is deemed eligible in principal you will be advised to go through a full application process.  Equally if your proposal is deemed ineligible you will be notified.

If you have not submitted an Expression of Interest form but would like to speak to someone about your project idea before submitting an application please contact a member of the staff team.  Completion of an Expression of Interest form is not a mandatory requirement of the application process.

All applicants making an application to the Programme irrespective of the Measure they are applying to must demonstrate the 'need' for the project.
