This page is under development, but it is hoped that other sources will be added to as the Programme develops.

Enterprise Northern Ireland Loan Fund

The Enterprise Northern Ireland Loan Fund was established to make funding more accessible to those starting or operating a small business, whilst also providing advice on financial management and business related issues. Find out more here. A leaflet is attached to the right hand side of this page.

Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme

Under the Enterprise Finance Guarantee, the Government will guarantee lending to viable businesses to ensure that they can get the working capital and investment that they need. There are numerous sources of information, but this factsheet may help.

Ulster Community Investment Trust

More and more community organisations are realising that grants cannot fully meet all of their funding needs. It is now becoming necessary for them to generate their own capital in order to fulfil both development and cash flow requirements. Consequently loan funding is becoming a primary tool in satisfying these needs.

Ulster Community Investment Trust Ltd (UCIT) was established in 1995 in response to decreasing grant support from government and the difficulties experienced by community organisations in accessing commercial loan facilities. The organisation now stands as the key provider of loan finance, free advice, business support and mentoring to the social economy sector in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You can find out more about UCIT here.

Financial Assistance from the Banks

Limavady Borough Council has written to all the local banks to inform them of the opening of the Rural Development Programme. It has also informed them that matching funding will be important to all potential applicants. Council realises that lending from banks is increasingly difficult to obtain, and therefore would recommend any of the above avenues of funding.
